This is from Jonny's blog on the Axis Centre website.

“Don’t watch the web, watch these people”
Books, sites and blogs to watch -
Part 1, Seth Godin

In life and online most people just amble about looking a bit vacant in some kind of trance, never really looking up. And in a crisis (economic, whatever) they just do the same only the move a bit faster. It’s understandable, we haven’t all got the time to contemplate the enormity, fragility and bleakness of existence, let alone where we all might be headed.

Copywriting an image for web

This is from Paul's blog on the Axis Centre site, but I think it is relevant for lots of web site owners.

A lot of web designers and businesses will be at one time or another concerned about putting images onto a site because of people stealing or copying them.

To stop this you can put the words copyright at the bottom of your site pages and no one will touch them! Not entirely true, it is so easy to remove or copy any image from the internet and no law or copyright wording will stop them.

Stu Nicholls CSS menus site

CSS based navigation

This post is taken from Bjorn's blog on the Axis Centre site, but I think it is really good and could be good for any one (re)designing their website.

Stu Nicholls created a new site specifically for various types of CSS menus and CSS drop down menus. He has decided to take all the good bits about menus from his previous CSS Play website (www.cssplay.co.uk) and created a site called CSS Menus (www.cssmenus.co.uk).

20 mind-blowing social media statistics

I have just come across these quick facts about social media on Econsultancy and thought they may provide a bit of "food for thought".

  • 80% of companies use, (or are planning to use), LinkedIn as their primary tool to find employees during the course of this year. The site has just celebrated reaching its 45-millionth membership.
