March event details

The amount of time we hear companies say “we can update everything on our web site”, yet the first time we suggest a change they say “oh, I can’t actually change that bit”…

Other common things we hear are: “We have paid a lot of £ for our current CMS but it doesn’t work, what do we do now?” or “We want to be able to update the web site in-house but how do we choose the right CMS?”

Based on so many questions and frustration around this topic, we are going to dedicate a whole evening event to the ins and outs of CMS!

What is CMS on a web site?

A content managed web site is a site that lets you create and manage content without the need to know any complicated coding.
While this sounds like a great idea, it isn’t always quite as simple as that!

We are very pleased to have Paul Shaw from e2Z and Alistair Kent from Tineke come as a guest speakers to help us de-mystify some of the different CMS solutions. They will help answer your questions and also highlight the pros and cons of a “bespoke” system vs. an “Open Source” system.

These are some of the questions we will be answering:

  • Who needs a CMS? How do you know if you need one?
  •  What do you need it to do, make sure you ask the right questions!
  •  What are the options, bespoke vs. open source?
  •  What is the cost, will you need to re-mortgage the house to pay for it?
  •  How to pick a good developer?
  •  What not to do!

Ask questions, prepare them and bring them along, this is your chance to ask a developer everything about CMS!
